Nero - Must Be The Feeling
If there's one UK act that really seemed to epitomise everything about dance music's seamless dominance of the airwaves over the past year, it's Nero. And their latest track sees them once again keeping their finger on that pulse, massaging that inherent drive to party within us all, spinning those neon lights on and on.
Must Be The Feeling works because it does something different. Working in some nice funky house influences, touches of 80s synth-pop and a equally glam vocal sample, it's the duo's most colourful number to date and easily one of the best club tracks coming your way in early 2012.
It might lack the all-out bombast and towering columns of dancefloor-shattering bass that powered Me & You, but in the dance game, versatility like that evidenced here counts for a lot. Must Be The Feeling is the sound of an act in it for the long haul, and after the rather samey, by-the-numbers feel of previous single Reaching Out, this makes for a refreshing click back into gear.
Must Be The Feeling is released on the 27th February.
