Korn (ft. Skrillex and Kill The Noise) - Narcissistic Cannibal
The second single to be taken from Korn's The Path of Totality album, Narcissistic Cannibal (try saying that one when you've had a few beers) is certainly a thing of expansive tastes. From its swirling organ melodies to the pounding sheet-metal-like guitar riffs, the track is more a force of nature than precise three-minute song.
With dance producer of the moment Skrillex thrown into the mix, the track's dance/metal blend feels like a natural union, a magentic attraction of sheer force from both sides of the musical spectrum.
And before you know it, it's all over. You're left searching almost, for a climax that never comes. But then you realise, the whole track is the climax. Stretched across every inch of its duration, every rumbling, bassy rhythm and blast of percussion.
The sheer power of combined pleasures, manifest in one song - Narcissistic Cannibal is metal hedonism at its best. (I'm loving the Dali-esque cover artwork for the track too).
Narcissistic Cannibal is available to download on iTunes now.
