Tina Dico - Paper Thin

Danish singer-songwriter Tina Dico has been in the game a long time. She released her debut album all the way back in 2001, the brilliant Paper Thin from her new album Welcome Back Colour shows there's certainly no hint of stagnation though. It's a feiry new-wave number, layers of guitars building and building to a powerful crescendo in the latter choruses. Dico's voice itself is rich and full of the kind of feisty grit needed to pull this kind of track off. The choruses are pure pop, while the verses have a definite indie edge to them; ragged guitar hooks scratching away in the background. I'm in love with the rainbow single cover too - beautiful stuff.
