Sway - Level Up

As big video game fans, we know all about levelling up, and we can tell you, it's a good feeling. And much the same can be said of Sway's new single - an appetising taster for the rapper's third album, The Deliverance, his first in four years.

Everything about Level Up feels bigger, slicker than anything Sway has put his name to before; a thoroughly modern track that pile-drives into the senses with a truck-load of Flux Pavillion-produced electronics and mechanistic beats. Oh, and then there's a wonderfully quirky piano middle-eight that pops out of nowhere before those 8-bit laser-synths smash back in again.

It all comes together to make a fitting companion piece to the likes of Labrinth's Earthquake - a sound-shattering record equally at home let loose in the club or across the airwaves. Over the past year or so, the British urban scene has worked its way up to become one of the most dominating forces in the charts today, and with Level Up, Sway is riding that wave with deft poise.

Level Up is released on the 2nd April.
