Little Boots - Shake

When characters in TV shows 'go to the club', there's usually a brand of pulsating cherry-picked bassline selected so it accentuates the drama to just the right degree. This new cut from Little Boots is precisely this.

Precision engineered from spiralling acid house synthesizers and deep bass hits, Shake is a far cry from the pop singles of her debut album but boasts such a commendable sense of 'space' that from the opening bars you feel yourself sucked into its gaping black hole of dancefloor magic.

It's gloriously sci-fi, the perfect balancing point of ethereal-glam-pop, and at six minutes long spins you off into its cosmic outer arms with bewitching intensity. It's like Inner City colliding with Lady Gaga and Bjork down the local discotheque and we like the sound of it a lot.
