The Saturdays - The Celestial Princesses photoshoot

Two of our biggest passions are pop and sci-fi/fantasy, so when the two combine with brilliant ingenuity, we get pretty excited. Whether it be Cheryl Cole dressing up as Seven-of-Nine in X Factor press shots, Kylie appearing in Doctor Who or Madonna taking a styling lesson from the lands of Skyrim, we love it all.

So imagine how bowled over we were by this dreamy Saturdays photoshoot from their All Fired Up tour programme - we're going to dub it the 'Celestial Princesses' photoshoot. What with its wintery theme, it all fits very nicely with the Icelandic setting of the My Heart Takes Over video too. Because we like to let our mind run away with itself, we started musing about the photoshoot and the song and something began to crystallise within our consciousness. Play the track with this image in mind, and think of another time, another place, where all this is the beginnings of some Final Fantasy-esque epic of unparallelled levels of amazing.

Across the foreign oceans and the shores of black volcanic silt, up along the sharp craggy peaks and down through the valleys to a distant tower looking out on the realm arrayed at their feet - these five princesses hold a kingdom in the palm of their hands. Therein lies a song, of ancient orgins, passed down their royal lineage back through the hazy generations to the dawn of all creation...

The other day we posted up the short preview clip of The Saturdays' new video, now you can watch the whole thing! We think you'll agree with us, it looks brilliant!

What you can expect: The five Saturdays girls looking absolutely gorgeous, as always. Horses in a field. Lots of hair and clothes blowing around in the wind. Some water. Mountains. Snow. More hair blowing around.

Not only is the video the perfect accompaniment to My Heart Takes Over, but boy does it make us want to visit Iceland! It looks so pretty there! (but very cold!)

The Saturdays unveil My Heart Takes Over video preview

The Saturdays looking gorgeous against a beautiful Icelandic backdrop - what more could you want in a video? In terms of landscape fitting musical feeling, you couldn't have found a much better match than the chilly confines of the wintry isle for the girl group's Christmassy sounding uber-ballad.

Luckily, the girls seem to have wrapped up warm for their trip, although we imagine it still wouldn't take long to catch a cold, especially when you're frolicking around in front of a mountain.

Also, how amazing does Mollie's hair look in the video? It matches the snow!

The Saturdays reveal tracklisting for On Your Radar album

There's a lot in a name. And for the moment, that's all we're going to have to go on when it comes to the new Saturdays album. But if the other tracks are any bit as good as Notorious, All Fired Up and My Heart Takes Over, we reckon this'll be a prime contender for pop album of the year.

HMV are offering five different exclusive slipcase-packaged versions of the album - one for each Saturday girl. The only question now is, which one do we choose?! (we might just have to get all of them).

The Saturdays, On Your Radar with new single My Heart Takes Over

8.15 yesterday morning saw the lovely Mollie King taking to Radio 1 to premiere the eagerly awaited new Saturdays single. An early start, but totally worth it - My Heart Takes Over is a gorgeous, wintery mid-tempo ballad.

It's the kind of single that a lot of fans felt the band needed, the kind of track that could land them that all important X Factor performance slot, and maybe, just possibly, that Number One that they've been aiming at for so long. They certainly deserve one after all the work they've put in over the past few years.

The track taps into that kind of Bruno Mars, beat centric vein of balladry, adding in an epic chorus and my personal favourite bit of the song: Rochelle's vocodered middle-eight part which seems to positively float on the swooshing backing synths. Properly gorgeous.

What's more, we now know that The Saturdays new album will be called On Your Radar, after Una's brilliant outro lines in previous single All Fired Up. We know we'll certainly be keeping the Sats girls on our radar. The album sounds like it will be bursting with top pop tunes; there's a collab with Travie McCoy and producers include Space Cowboy, Steve Mac, Brian Higgins and David Eriksen.

My Heart Takes Over is released on the 13th November, with On Your Radar following the next week on the 21st November.

The Saturdays reveal My Heart Takes Over single cover!

Exciting pop news alert! The title of the new The Saturdays single has been confirmed as My Heart Takes Over - just look at the gorgeous cover art above! The girls are all in white striking identical poses - a striking image for what we are sure is another bit of pop brilliance from the girls.

The song gets its first play on Radio 1 at 8.15 tomorrow morning, no excuses for not listening! - the CD release of the track comes accompanied by new b-side So Sorry!

Rochelle had this to say of the track:
