Trailer Trash Tracys - Wish You Were Red / Engelhardt's Arizona

For London four piece Trailer Trash Tracys, their new double A side single is a two-in-one chance to show exactly what they're all about.

First up, Wish You Were Red: big metallic slabs of guitar recall post-punk's glory days and the song's vocals echo out, diembodied and atmospheric. It's slow, methodic stuff, but always involving. As the band pick out a low-fi guitar solo, you have a clear image of the sound they want to create - it's almost half art installation in its gritty, expansive blankness.

Of the two tracks, Engelhardt's Arizona is definitely the better - here, the guitars are pushed through the effects filter, transforming them into a kind of quasi-synth. The bass pulls in all directions, underpinning a mirage-like wash of psychadelic sound. The band seem more at home here, lost in their dizzying maze of sonic experimentation.

The band release their debut album in January on Double Six/Domino records.

Wish You Were Red / Engelhardt's Arizona is released on the 31st October
