Justin Timberlake - get a move on with the next album please!

It's strange to think that Justin Timberlake has only released two studio albums.

As one of the biggest male pop stars in the world, you'd be inclined to imagine he'd have gone down the standard route of releasing the five/six albums many of his contemporaries have got through by this point.

But no, these days Justin's film career seems to be fast eclipsing his musical one. He's just released new film Friends With Benefits where he acts in the starring role (alongside the lovely Mila Kunis).

And let's not forget the Social Network - one of the most acclaimed movies of the past few years - in which Justin also starred.

Many pop stars have dabbled in the world of film, usually with disastrous results. But the thing with Justin is that he's actually really, really good at it. So much so that the general public seems almost ready to forget his music.

This wouldn't be so troublesome if it wasn't for the fact Justin's music - what little of it that he has released - is properly brilliant.

From his debut album: Like I Love You and Cry Me A River; both pop classics - the latter even more so due to its controversy-baiting 'is it Britney?!' video. Top stuff.

It was with his second LP that Justin really confirmed his place in the world of pop though - He brought 'SexyBack', after all. What made FutureSex/LoveSounds so good though was its incredible consistency; something backed up from the endless stream of singles released from the record - every single one was a pure winner too.

My personal favourite has to be LoveStoned, a dizzyingly good track that struck the balance between slick, sensual pop and a dash of indie-leaning guitar sounds. It was just perfect.

So looking forward to the future and the potential of a third Justin Timberlake album - any time soon would be nice Mr. Timberlake. Cheers.
