Charlie Simpson announces 2012 headline tour!
Charlie Simpson's Young Pilgrim album was one of our favourites of 2011, summed up beautifully in his ace performance at London's St Pancras station.
With the record's rich acoustic melodies ringing out through the baroque setting of the Eurostar terminal, an impressive crowd gathered round to listen - testament to Charlie's skill as both showman and songwriter.
2012 sees him taking to the road to give the album a proper live airing across twelve dates around the country.

Josh Kumra - Call Off The Search
We love a good free download from time to time, especially when the track in question is as top-notch as Josh Kumra's Call off the Search. Channelling some seriously slick rock vibes, Kumra goes for a cool, bluesy vibe accented with some sweet guitar licks and soulful vocals.
He's a sort of better version of James Morrison, where the focus remains firmly on good musicianship and great songwriting; a Ray Lamontagne for the masses - and if his voice sounds familiar, it's because you'll have heard him on Wretch 32's hit single Don't Go.
Interesting fact: Josh hails from Swindon, but let's just say he holds significantly more musical merit than that towns other great export: Billie Piper. With Kumra, it's all class, plain and simple; and with a host of classic rock greats cited as his influences, his music stands as the missing link between father and son - a continuation of good, honest rock tradition.
Call of the Search is available as a free download on Josh's Facebook page.

[Official Video] Mohombi - In Your Head
He's the guy with the name on everyone's lips right now - Mohombi. Quite literally, in everybody's head.
The up and coming star delivered the video for his new single today and if you're a fan of perky R&B pop in the vein of Akon, you'll definitely want to check it out.
Featuring Mohombi in a number of epic poses, an ice cream van and walking down the street in funky shades, the video makes for a fun accompaniment to the track - packing skyscraper high synths and a chorus as big as they come, it's not hard to imagine that In Your Head will be a positively massive hit when it's released next year.
We imagine he'll go down rather well with the ladies too. Already massively successful across Europe, UK is next on the man's hit-list, a task we reckon he'll accomplish with ease.
In Your Head is released on the 5th March.

TOWIE - Last Christmas
It was always going to happen. When a TV show becomes such a cultural barometer as The Only Way Is Essex, a 'themed' cover song is sure to always swiftly follow.
What better, or more seasonal, choice then than Wham's classic Last Christmas. With the cast looking all glossy and slicked up in assorted beauty products no doubt, they delivery a perfunctory cover of the track, complete with a healthy dose of sleigh bells.
Over the past few years, the chart battle between proper Christmas songs has always been dominated by golden oldies The Pogues and Mariah - could it be that this year, TOWIE achieve what the original Wham version failed to do and actually reach No. 1?
We'll leave you with one parting line from the song: 'I can't wait to get my Christmas vajazzle.'
Last Christmas is released on the 18th December and can be pre-ordered from iTunes here.

Nicola Roberts - Memory of You (Solo Version)
Are there any sweeter words to a pop lover than these: a Nicola Roberts solo version of Memory Of You?
Yes, that's right, Nicola is offering her own take on what many consider as the greatest Girls Aloud b-side ever. Back when it was released in early 2009, accompanying ace single The Loving Kind, the fan community were blown over by this arty synth-pop concoction - in the original instance sung by both Nicola and Kimberley - it was Xenomania at their very best.
Now the track serves as the kind of missing link between Girls Aloud and solo Nicola, with Kimberley's vocals removed and new ones from Nicola inserted. As you can imagine, it still sounds every bit as epic and mind-bogglingly amazing as ever.
Nicola's version of the song is being offered as an iTunes only exclusive for those that pre-order the Yo-yo single. Also present on the tracklisting are the bouncy 80s-styled JRMX remix and the commercial club sounds of the High Level mix.
iTunes have also put up clips of the Engine Room sessions - basically the tracks on the physical CD version of Yo-yo - these pretty much represent the brilliant acoustic set Nicola performed at the Carphone Warehouse gig the other week.
The new version of I is incredible - complete with swearing and an awesome guitar hook. Then there's the demo of Sticks + Stones, which with its electric piano chords and drum machine, all sounds very Lily Allen-esque. We like!

MTV announces 'Brand New 2012' shortlist.
We've only just kicked off December, but already the first 'Ones to Watch in 2012' list is in, courtesy of MTV! We all like to keep abreast of the hectic comings and goings of promising new talent, so here's a handy bite size guide of who they think will be all the rage next year:
ANGEL
West London lad who's written tracks for Pixie Lott and Roll Deep. Sounds like a British Jason Derulo - slick synth-heavy R&B with some nice soulful vocals to top it off, and he raps too! His track Ride Out already has over 400,000 views on YouTube.
CHARLI XCX
Uber talented 19 year old who's supported Robyn in the past. A bit like an electro version of Florence & The Machine. Her track Stay Away is gloriously melancholic.
CLEMENT MARFO AND THE FRONTLINE
Seven-piece hip-hop gang who've supported Plan B and Dizzee Rascal. Slide effortlessly into the British rap scene with a combo of powerfully delivered rhymes and a pop chorus of positively epic proportions on the brilliant Overtime.
CONOR MAYNARD
A fully fledged YouTube sensation who built his initial success on home-made cover versions, this Brighton lad's version of Use Somebody has over 2 million views. Not bad for an 18 year old, eh?
DELILAH
Ethereal, airy singer who remains implacably difficult to pin down. Her collab with Chase & Status and debut single Go positioned her as a clubland vocalist but new track Love You So veers towards a more trippy Massive Attack vibe. Properly amazing.
KING CHARLES
Super quirky and with the biggest hairstyle you'll see all year, his track Love Lust is half quirky Mumford & Sons folk, half percussive Vampire Weekend number, and the rest is just all kinds of bonkers. Probably the most 'indie' pick on here.
LANA DEL REY
We all know Miss Del Ray already - you know, the one off of 'Video Games' (already 8 Million views and counting on YouTube) - think sultry 60s sounds, a Dusty Springfield for the digital age.
LIANNE LA HAVAS
A favourite of Radio 1 DJs and she's already appeared on Later with Jools Holland - Age sees Lianne going for a soulful vocal and simple acoustic melodies. Like a Corrine Bailey Rae Pt. 2.
MICHAEL KIWANUKA
Beautifully soulful singer songwriter who shines as a real standout talent. I'm Getting Ready and Home Again possess such a inherent sense of melody and natural charm it's hard not to imagine Kiwanuka rocketing to mega-success in 2012.
