[Single Cover] The Saturdays - 30 Days

We haven't even heard the song yet, but some quick snooping on The Saturdays Facebook page has revealed this cover artwork for new single 30 Days!

What do we reckon? Speaking style-wise, it's very much in keeping with the On Your Radar look, so could this mean the single is fronting up a re-release of the album? One thing we know for sure, Una flipping her hair sure gets us overwhelmed. We like Vanessa's finger-gesture too, very Saturday(s) Night Fever.

Anyways, the song is getting its premiere on Radio 1 at 7.55am tomorrow morning - so make sure you listen in then.

30 Days is set for a 13th May release date.

Nero - Innocence

Six singles in, and Nero are still going strong. Serving up as double a-side with synthpoppy Must Be The Feeling, Innocence is in fact a re-release of the band's first single (it originally charted outside the Top 100 back in 2010).

Innocence sees Nero meddling in far moodier waters, and only leaps from its trippy ambient intro a minute into the song. After that, it's business as usual as the duo unleash the full force of their trembling dub-step production. This far into the album campaign, Innocence is exactly what's needed though - a back to basics approach that reminds the core fanbase while they fell in love with the group in the first place. And from there... well, the prospects of a second album beckon on the horizon.

Oh, and the anime video is incredibly cool too.

Innocence is released on the 5th March.

Ben Howard – The Wolves

A timely re-release of Howard’s single (originally released in June last year), The Wolves is a haunting exploration of the folk-man’s sound – percussive and insistently urgent, it possesses the wild ferality of its namesake.

Building to a series of impassioned latter choruses, Howard laments with a tortured cry ‘We’ve lost faith in the art of love...’ Like a rollicking, rough-hewn painting of the heather-strewn, grey-skied country, Howard’s brand of folk is refreshingly raw, a further statement of the talent that has already pushed his debut album Every Kingdom to the UK Top 10.

The Wolves is released on the 27^th February

Bonus edition Ahoy!

'Extended', 're-release', 'bonus', 'deluxe'. These are all words that have been occuring rather often recently. A top chart act releases an album and it does well. So how do you squeeze a few more sales out of that 'era'? Easy! Release a bonus version of it with MORE content. It's a win, win situation.

Currently I'm getting excited over the exclusive HMV edition of Duran Duran's All You Need Is Now which comes with a bonus remix CD. There's also the bonus version of Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns which is packaged with a DVD of the band playing live in Madrid. This release is rather awesomely titled A Thousand Suns +, with emphasis on the 'PLUS'. It's like those TV ads for razors. Properly amazing.

And just look at the cover. THOSE COLOURS! It's like someone got high and then went crazy on Photoshop. I love it.
