[Lyric Video] Rebecca Ferguson - Backtrack
We like lyric videos. When all your want to do is get your grubby paws on your favourite artist's latest song, fresh from its radio premiere, those lyric videos - so carefully uploaded by the record labels to go live just as the radio premiere finishes - are a little bit of magic in themselves. They offer just that little bit more, that little touch of flair that brings that connection a static image shot on a YouTube video can never do.
There's probably someone somewhere who spent days putting the whole thing together, and the result you're watching right now is their little baby. And the video for Rebecca Ferguson's smokily soulful new song Backtrack is the epitome of the lyric video, the jumbo-size supreme - a veritable blockbuster of a lyric video. With everything superimposed over real live-action shots, it's almost rather trippy, even! And in an age where the digital medium and online video content becomes ever more popular, give it a few more years and we'll probably be head-deep in stuff like this every minute of our online lives.

[Official Video] Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter & Gold
Rebecca Ferguson's voice will never get old for us. Just like her album, it feels utterly timeless - and watching the video for new single Glitter & Gold, which in its gloss and luxury feels like such a well-rounded part of her continuing campaign, you only wish she was riding high up in the charts with the likes of fellow female crooner Emeli Sande. Yes, you can bandy around phrases like 'Oh, but Rebecca's an album artist...', but really, with tracks as good as Glitter & Gold, there's no reason why the nation shouldn't be taking these songs to heart and going out an downloading them in their droves.
There's a standard of songwriting across her Heaven album that sets a new high water-mark for X Factor acts, and Glitter & Gold stands as a real showpiece for that. And as for the video, which wouldn't look out of place as some high-grade M&S advert, well, it fits the silkiness and velour of *that* voice perfectly. Then there's the whole 'Oh, these people are paper cut-outs, they must be *literally* shallow people' thing going on. Frankly, we love it, and we love her too.

Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter & Gold (Fever Pitch Mix)
Last week we posted the Cahill mix of Rebecca Ferguson's excellent new single Glitter & Gold, but the Fever Pitch mix - which we've just had the joy of hearing - is even better. Taking Rebecca's luxuriantly soulful vocal and wrapping it around a poppers'o'clock exuberant burst of magnificent that synthpop maestro's Erasure would be proud of. It's the kind of thing we would be over the moon about if we heard it as we walked into a club on Friday night. We love it, that's for sure.
Glitter & Gold is released on the 30th April.

Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter & Gold (Live from Echo Arena)
Rebecca Ferguson is someone that knows all about classy live performances. Aside from her giving one week in, week out on the X Factor, she's just polished off a tour round the UK, from which this stunning video of her singing I Need A Dollar-esque anthem Glitter & Gold comes. How beautiful does she look!

Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter & Gold (Cahill Club Edit)
Continuing the amazing disco diva makeover that Seamus Haji worked on sensational soul starlet Rebecca Ferguson on her previous single Too Good To Lose, Cahill takes up the baton on this ace re-work of new track Glitter & Gold. It's a swishing, sashaying take on the track, gorgeous string sections and blippy rave-tastic synths backing up *that* voice. Every time we hear Rebecca sing, we fall in love, all over again. We've long said how we always imagined her as an empowered club diva, and this version of Glitter & Gold is all that, personified.

Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter & Gold
In much the same way as Emeli Sande's Next To Me has turned out to be something of a real slow burner of a big hit, Rebecca Ferguson's Glitter & Gold very much makes a sort of obvious choice as the next single from her Heaven album. Rocking that same Aloe Blacc-styled piano riffing, it struts with a soulful elegance that's the very epitome of the poise and grace with which Rebecca has charmed the nation. It's all class, all the wonder of the Motown diva recaptured for a new audience. It's the mark of a real star that puts a stopper in the pipe of anyone who still touts that X Factor doesn't produce 'proper' talent.
There's also going to be a Cahill mix of it, which we reckon will be just as brilliant as the Seamus Haji version of Too Good To Lose was.
Glitter & Gold is released on the 30th April.

Rebecca Ferguson covers Drake's Take Care
We were already mega-excited for Rebecca Ferguson's tour, but after seeing this sublime cover of Drake's Take Care, we're positively counting down the days to the date we're going to. Rebecca's smoky, sultry vocals suit the song perfectly and we love the arrangement of the track she's gone for - very classy indeed!

Rebecca Ferguson - On & On
We're always fans of a good b-side, and when it comes from a pop star as incredibly talented as Rebecca Ferguson (her album Heaven is still one of our favourites of the past twelve months), all the better. Well, Rebecca's turned out new track On & On to accompany her latest single Too Good To Lose, and frankly we think it's great.
A gorgeous, luxurious ballad of premier chocolate box proportions - On & On is a thing of magical beauty that easily stands up there with the high standards of the album.

[Official Video] Rebecca Ferguson - Too Good To Lose
For a gorgeous song, a gorgeous accompanying video - Rebecca Ferguson's new one Too Good To Lose was always the standout track for me from her album, and after watching the video, I love it even more. With Rebecca walking through the hustle and bustle of sunny city streets, it's got a bit of a Unfinished Sympathy feel going on, and it goes without saying she looks absolutely stunning.
It's fair to say Rebecca, the fully-fledged pop-star, has arrived. Top marks!
Too Good To Lose is released on the 4th March.

Rebecca Ferguson - Too Good To Lose (Seamus Haji / Dukebox remixes)
We reckon Rebecca Ferguson's Too Good To Lose is the best track off her album, so we were overjoyed when we heard it was going to be her next single. Even better though is that it now comes with a compliment of ace remixes!
First up is the poppers o' clock Seamus Haji mix which keeps all of that awesome synth riff from the original and wraps it round an alcopop-fuelled commercial club beat.
Then there's the Duxebox remix which does an awesome job of transforming the track into a steely dub-step behemoth - it also features a guest rap and GUITARS! All kinds of amazing basically.
Too Good To Lose is released on the 4th March.

How lovely does Rebecca Ferguson look here...
Here's a nice picture of Rebecca to brighten up your afternoon - we think you'll agree she looks gorgeous.
What's also rather gorgeous is her new single Too Good To Lose, which we fell in love with when we first heard her album.
It's getting a single release on the 26th February and the video is coming very soon! We can't wait to see it!

Rebecca Ferguson - Too Good To Lose
One of the best feelings in pop music is when an artist you love picks your favourite track from their album as the next single. It's like everything just clicking perfectly into place, playing out to your own designs.
And this is the case with Rebecca Ferguson's brilliant album Heaven - following a host of ecstatic reviews (some of the best ever received by an X Factor contestant), she'll be releasing the fabulous Too Good To Lose as the follow-up to Nothing's Real But Love.
On the album, Too Good To Lose comes as the record's definitive standout moment, a rare journey into up-tempo for Rebecca, but one she handles with just as much ease as her lush, spacious ballads. With lashings of jazzy synth riffs and a smatter of drum machine, its real charm comes from the fact that while it dares to add a bit of real excitement to the LP, it still manages to slot effortlessly alongside the more traditional songs.
It's also a riveting look forward to the kind of amazing super-pop Rebecca could make - in the right hands (and possibly with a few rappers tossed in for good measure) - in the future.

[Album Review] Rebecca Ferguson - Heaven
With last year’s X Factor ‘winner’ Matt ‘credible’ Cardle drowning in a seemingly never-ending sea of his own unfortunate press statements, it falls to the release of Rebecca Ferguson’s album to make a genuine case for why the ITV show is a force for musical good. Cher Lloyd’s debut has already impressed, a surprise pop gem that perfectly captured both her attitude – can Rebecca prove she too has the mettle to stick it out on her own two feet too?
On the X Factor, it was clear that Rebecca was the ‘talent’ – week after week she blew the audience away with inspired, powerful cover versions. And if there’s one overriding theme to Heaven, it’s that it stands as a genuine statement of that talent. Her vocals are flawless, the production of the tracks equally faultless; infused with a timeless gloss of class. Heaven is by no means year-defining, the 5/5 record The Telegraph would lead you to believe it is; but it is undeniably stately, regal – an album that manages to shake off the X Factor tag in its confidence and buffed-up sheen.
In a year of vocally superior empowered female artists, Adele has trailed the banner, managing to break out from the samey cling that affects so many retro-pop records. Rebecca, it has to be said, doesn’t quite manage this – Heaven is a samey-sounding album, but her saving grace is that she does what she does here exceedingly well. Heaven treads a predictable path from track to track, but it treads it with unrivalled elegance.
Glitter & Gold struts with the same timely bounce as Aloe Blacc anthem I Need A Dollar while Mr. Bright Eyes recalls the halcyon days of mid America and white picket-fenced houses. It is here that Rebecca’s vocals are at their heavenly best – and looking to Adele, Shoulder To Shoulder is the album’s real Hometown Glory moment, full of a haunting procession of string laced piano chords.
The lasting impression of Heaven is as an album that ‘serious music’ fans can stroke their beards to and go ‘oh she’s rather good isn’t she’. Of course, it’s important to remember that underneath all the grandstanding of the album, there’s still a fun-loving Scouse girl – if there was ever an artist to bridge young and old in union and mutual appreciation of something, it’s Rebecca.
The album’s not without its groovy moments too – Run Free in particular rocking to a cool Stevie Wonder vibe. Then there’s Diamond To Stone, a bit of a ‘lurve’ on the dancefloor of a 70s disco come close of the night moment. Fighting Suspicions is equally sensual, taking things further back in time to smoky 30s jazz joints; ultimately building to almost Bond theme levels of scale.
It’s in Too Good To Lose that Heaven finds its pinnacle. The album’s most up-tempo number, it’s a Cee Lo Green-esque concoction smattered with a dash of drum machine and synths. Now, if the whole album was as good as this, then it really would be a 5/5. A tantalising glimpse at just how brilliantly amazing Rebecca can be when she wants to be.

Rebecca Ferguson - Shoulder to Shoulder
The press is hotting up for the release of Rebecca Ferguson's debut solo album with The Telegraph awarding it an impressive 5 stars in their review.
It's tracks like the beautiful Shoulder To Shoulder that prove its real merit. Heartfelt and soulful, Rebecca's class and vocals are self evident, easily elevating her above 99% of the other X Factor protegees.
Perhaps the greatest sign of her appeal though is the way she seamlessly blends the sounds of the 60s soul greats with a glossy contemporary overhaul. Rebecca isn't just a clone, she stands as resolutely modern and a real star for the future.
Fancy more of her? Rebecca will be taking part in a live Ustream at 7pm on Wednesday night at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rebecca-ferguson-live
Don't miss it!

Rebecca Ferguson - Fairytale (Let Me Live My Life This Way)
Here's a nice bit of Rebecca Ferguson to warm your cockles on a cold wintry Friday - she's singing Fairytale, one of the tracks from her forthcoming debut album.
Compared to her single Nothing's Real But Love, this one goes for a more up-tempo jazzy vibe, but still wraps itself tenderly around Rebecca's gorgeous, soulful vocals.
And there's her appeal - young or old - there's that quality in Rebecca that seems to relate to everyone, testament to her popularity on the X Factor last year, and a quality that we're sure will help propel her album to great success upon its release.

[Official Video] Rebecca Ferguson - Nothing's Real But Love
It goes without saying that Rebecca Ferguson is one of those X Factor contestants that really does have that elusive 'X' of the show's title.
It's that special something that you can't quite put your finger on, but that sparkles away as a brightly burning flame of talent.
Rebecca has the looks, she's got the voice, and she's putting both to good use in the rather delightful video for her debut single - we approve!
Nothing's Real But Love is released on the 27th November and her debut album Heaven (check out the album cover above!) follows on December 5th.

Rebecca Ferguson - Nothing's Real But Love (Acoustic Version)
More from one of our favourite X Factor stars - It's Rebecca Ferguson with her long awaited debut single Nothing's Real But Love.
What we like most about Rebecca is that she's the contestant that doesn't need any gimmicks, she doesn't have to hide behind a flamboyant persona or over-produced backing tracks - and never is this proved more true than on this gorgeous stripped back acoustic version of the song.
Nothing's Real But Love is released on the 28th November.
