Monarchy - You Don't Want To Dance With Me (Deep Space Acoustic Version)

Super-hip electro-pop track transformed into a classy piano torch-song? Can't be done, you say? Think again.

The Deep Space Acoustic Version of Monarchy's You Don't Want To Dance With Me is achingly beautiful, taking the song from the heart of the dancefloor to the dreamy post-club comedown.

If anything, Britt Love and the Monarchy lads' voices gel even better here and there's a touch of smoky 30s Jazz clubs to this version - And did I mention that you can download it for free from Soundcloud? Basically, there's no reason not to get it.

You Don't Want To Dance With Me is released on the 31st October.

Monarchy - You Don't Want To Dance With Me (VIVIEN Remix)

It's often said that the best remixes are the ones that take the original track out of its established territory and into a completely new direction. Well, such can be said of this wonderfully funky mix of Monarchy's new single You Don't Want To Dance With Me by their bass player Vivien.

Straddling a limbo between early 80s synth-pop, old-skool funk and some nice little contemporary touches, there's a brilliant horn riff that injects a completely fresh vibe into the track. Never has the track's title sounded more ironic; this version makes us want to dance, a lot.

Monarchy - You Don’t Want to Dance With Me (feat. Britt Love)

Sleek, sultry, stylish - Monarchy's latest video is the perfect fit for its accompanying track. After the hip electro-pop duo hitched up with former Mini Viva girl Britt Love for Lovebox Festival earlier this year, they've combined forces again on You Don't Want To Dance With Me, and the results are rather special.

Clinical and clean in the precision of its hummed vocals and slow, methodic groove, the song taps with ease into a rich seam of funky groove. YDWTDWM is the post-club come-down, the soundtrack to that moment when the lights go down and the night slips away.

In the world of pop, matching style with substance has always been a tricky game, but here Monarchy have it spot on. And above all, it's just great to have new material from Britt - we saw her live at the Hoxton Pony a few months ago and her solo material is shaping up to be absolutely brilliant.
