Deluxe edition round-up! Nik Kershaw and Diana Ross

Don’t you just love a glossy deluxe edition package – your favourite album all re-mastered and glossed-up with a load of extra tracks shoved on to satisfy even the most voracious of hard-core fans/12” mix collectors.

The coming month marks two lovingly curated special editions from the chaps at Universal Music Catalogue: first up, 80s icon Nik Kershaw. Now, we’ve always been a bit partial to his classic track The Riddle, but preceding that there was of course Human Racing, Kershaw’s platinum selling debut LP. Reaching No. 5 in the UK charts back in 1984, it contains those delightful hit singles Wouldn’t It Be Good and I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me (try saying that one when you’ve had a few bevies).

Released as a two-disc set, the newly re-mastered version of Human Racing – out on the 27^th February – contains a plethora of b-sides and extended mixes.

Up next is Diana Ross and her self-titled 1976 record. Once again, all put together in a two disc set with more alternate versions than you could fit in a tour bus. What’s more, there’s a 24 page accompanying booklet filled with in depth song annotations and a load of photos. Perfect!

The Diana Ross expanded edition is released on the 5^th March.

Nerina Pallot - All Bets Are Off (We Are The Chatterley​s Mix)

Last year, with Nerina Pallot's Year of the Wolf album on the verge of release, the ever delightful pop songstress turned out a gloriously fizzy synth rework of lead single Put Your Hands Up. And now, ushering in a Deluxe Edition re-release of the album, Nerina steps up to treat her fans to another We Are The Chatterleys mix.

The smooth, balladic tones of All Bets Are Off are transformed into a trembling, sultry alt-electro version; Nerina's vocals as always achieving a level of crisp, soaring delicacy that borders the sublime. Like the wind on the cusp of a budding spring morning, it teases and soothes - the embodiment of flowering British songwriting talent.

The deluxe edition of Year of the Wolf is set for a 30th January release date and will feature three new tracks alongside six cover versions recorded for the BBC:

Jessie J celebrates with the Deluxe edition of her album!

You'd be pretty chuffed if you had the best selling debut album of the year, wouldn't you? For Jessie J, beginning the year with all that hype, all those expectations, who'd have thought that the final few months would bring affirmation of just how successful she's been.

Yup, that's right - Jessie J's debut LP Who You Are is officially the best-selling debut album of 2011. Getting that all-important first album right is crucial and as many would say, you can't argue with the sales. Jessie's been a hands-down success and her performance on this weekend's X Factor will see the culmination of that.

The new Erasure album, Tomorrow's World - Out today!

Who's up for some synthpop goodness to last them through the week? The new Erasure album is out today, and produced by electro whiz Frankmusik, you can expect to be impressed.

We previewed the album last week and can confirm Erasure have delivered once again - after all, flicking through their back catalogue, they've been one of the most consistent acts since their formation in the 80s.
