Six singles into her album campaign and Caro Emerald’s still going strong. The Dutch starlet dips once again into the big-band fun for strutting swing-beat Dr Wanna Do – it’s all flirty sauciness and kiss-me-quick tongue in cheek fooling, but as ever delivered with such energy and pizzazz you’re left craving for another shot. Charming the nation with a sumptuous performance on Jools Holland’s ever-entertaining Hootenanny, Caro’s coquettish charm comes on like Adele on pro-plus and conjures up imagery of decadent parties in the roaring 20s. It’s a place we’d just love to visit...
Stuck. You can get stuck in a variety of manners and situations - but in this instance, I'm stuck with Caro Emerald's track on repeat quite simply because it's one of those songs that manages to worm its way into the soles of your feet. A true toe-tapper in all senses of the word.
As gloriously fun as her previous single haves been, it seems the perfect track to launch the Platinum edition of her album which is released on the 21st November. Caro's vocals are pure sensuality, a throwback to classy 30s jazz joints, all whiskey and red satin.
Radio 2 have made Caro something of their playlist darling over the past year - all five of her singles have found themselves plastered to their A list, and for good reason: Stuck, and the rest of her tracks are the very epitome of radio-friendly. Indeed, they positively burst with the pleasure of true easy-listening.
Stuck is that irresistible feeling of the night out that never ends, that track that keeps spinning on the turntable inside your head long after you've collapsed exhausted into bed. Retro pop at its very best.

The UK definitely seems to have taken Dutch star Caro Emerald to heart - as it stands, her debut album Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor is in its 5th week in the UK Top 10.
With her charmingly European brand of pop, Caro is the kind of artist who manages to catch a real sense of the 'moment' in her music - every morning I wake up and see the advert for her album on the telly; and a good thing too, her songs are exactly the kind of joyous, up and at 'em numbers that you want to get you fired up for the day.
Like Back It Up and A Night Like This before it, new single That Man carries itself with a distinct bounce and liveliness - a proper old fashioned anthem to passion and romance.
Its delightful video is brilliant too - half James Bond title sequence, half stylistic art statement. The whole thing just seems infused, like the track, with a wonderful sense of retro. In an instant, we're transported to hazy 30s night clubs and whisky bars, everyone dressed immaculately, soaking in the atmosphere.
And as That Man trails away into a jazzy brass outro, we're there, soaking in that atmosphere too.
Dutch singer Caro Emerald became something of an overnight superstar when she her impossibly infectious single Back It Up on a local TV station. Now, if you haven't heard said track already, go away and have a quick listen as it encapsulates everything Caro is about in its delightful encapsulation of jazzy 1940s and 50s influences.
If you like your pop with a definite dash of European sunshine and flair, then Caro is the woman for you. Classy, sassy; follow-up single A Night Like This is exactly the kind of toe-tapping number that seems to spring from the air itself when the summer rolls in. Glorious blue skies, the smell of freshly cut lawns, the track is all these things.
With its ditzy blend of piano and brass, it could easily stand side by side with some of the more up-tempo songs on Adele's recent 21 album - indeed, Caro channels much of that same natural charm that our dear Adele does; she's relatable, she's cool, she manages to add that touch of sparkle to songs. And when it comes to A Night Like This, she's sparkly very brightly indeed.
