TMS feat. Jagga - I Need You

It is impossible to ignore the immense surge in popularity dub-step is experiencing at the moment. It's everywhere, pounding from car stereos every time you leave the house, and even sneaking its way into your favourite pop records.

And standing at the forefront of that movement are TMS, a trio of hip West Londoners that can boast Devlin, Professor Green and Tinchy Stryder among their collaboraters.

New track I Need You packs real-bite - anyone lured into the dub-steo genre by the epic 'for the masses' sound of acts like Nero will love this. With a massive vocal hook supplied by singer Jagga, there's simply a sense of scale here that propells this track up on a soaring wave of energy and dancefloor-rocking power.

Fresh from a support slot for Katy B, Jagga says of I Need You: 'I’ve been working with TMS for a while now on my own tracks but when I first heard the instrumental of ‘I Need You’ being played at Fabric and saw the reaction, I knew I had to get involved. They’ve got some HUGE collaborations planned for later this year, they are one of the hottest production teams in the UK and this track is a wicked introduction to what they’re capable of...FIRE!'

I Need You is released on the 13th June.

Tinchy Stryder feat. Dappy - Spaceship

Pixie Lott, Holly Willoughby, 'Rochelle from The Saturdays'; all get a cheeky name-check in Tinchy's new track Spaceship. Pop culture references are always a winning point with me and in terms of giving Miss Pixie a mention, this ranks up there with Professor Green's Monster - we assume she's still drinking Lotts of milk...

The first single from his fourth album, Spaceship sees a return to the rougher intensity of Tinchy's early material like Stryderman; somewhat refreshing after the glossyness of tracks like Let It Rain. At any rate, the record is a fitting tribute to the rapper's success, with Dappy from N-Dubz adding a frenetic burst of speed to the song with his lightning-quick raps.

The track feels suitably in line with the sci-fi themes its title invokes, robotic march-like beats banging out a mechanistic, club-ready stomp. Packed with the confidence of two artists who know they've made it, the song's hooky chants ripple with natural swagger.

Spaceship is released on 12th June.

Wretch 32 - Traktor

Traktor is one of those songs that you just can’t ignore. That rumbling bassline just worms its way into your head, while slamming beats transform this into a ready-made smash for clubs and radio alike. Oh, and there’s a genius reference to The Jeremy Kyle Show thrown into the mix too. Like all the best hip-hop, the cultural references are quick-witted and laced with humour, and Wretch 32 AKA. 25 year old Jeremiah Scott is a dab hand at it. Tinie Tempah clearly agrees too, proclaiming him ‘one of the best lyricists in the game’. Devlin is also a big fan.

Tipped in the BBC Sound of 2011 and with support slots with Professor Green and Example, he’s the next in the line of a strong pedigree of new British rap stars. When the guy’s already sold 15,000 mixtapes in his home-turf of Tottenham, you’ve got to admire his business skills too.
