The ice-pick edginess of the Arctic Monkeys' guitar work combined with a broiling, rugged attitude that recalls the likes of Kids In Glass Houses - Leeds based outfit Scams are all these things.
With Helicopter Parents they bring the kind of energetic, muscular power that does much to restore the faith in British guitar bands. Unwilling to fit into the mold of their predecessors, they even manage to slip a nice little bit of dub-step into their single Helicopter Parents too.
Exciting, promising stuff.
